• Acting for Centum Investment Company, a Nairobi and Uganda Securities Exchange investment group, in connection with its USD47.5m mezzanine financing from Vantage Capital Fund Managers, an Africa-focused fund manager, in relation to funding the acquisition, renovation and development of commercial office buildings at Two Rivers International Finance and Innovation Centre SEZ, a special-purpose vehicle set up for the development of an international finance and innovation centre within a licenced Special Economic Zone in Kenya.
  
• Acting for Sosian Menengai Geothermal Limited, an Independent Power Producer, in connection with acquiring financing from Development Finance Institution for the costs in relation to the construction of a 35MW geothermal modular power plant in Kenya.
  
• Acting for CPS Africa, a German real estate developer, the largest private real estate developer in Tanzania and Zanzibar, in the development of Fumba Town and the Soul Paje.
  

Highlight-Mandate

• Advising Africa50 and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited on the development, structuring, financing, and construction of two high-priority transmission lines under a Public-Private Partnership framework, including drafting and negotiation of project documents.
  
• Acting as Kenyan local counsel for Sichuan Road & Bridge Group Co. in connection with the development, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the Mzima II pipeline water supply PPP project.
  
• Representing Fortescue Future Industries in setting up captive power projects in Kenya, which utilise renewable energy sources for the manufacture of green and ammonia and fertiliser for the local market.

• Advising the Government of Kenya, through the Ministry of Defence and the Directorate of Public Private Partnership, on a project for the design, development, building, and financing of residential accommodation and other associated support facilities for the Kenya Defence Forces across multiple locations in Kenya.
  
• Advising a client on a crucial public-private partnership project in Kenya aimed at resolving the long-standing water scarcity issue; the project involves constructing a water dam on the Ndarugu River in Kiambu county near Nairobi.

• Advising Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen) on the development of a world-class green industrial zone, which shall incorporate access to 100% renewable energy, logistics infrastructure, transport networks and provide an enabling environment to foster the green economy (the Green Energy Park).
  
• Advised the County Pension Fund Registered Trustees and CPF Financial Services Ltd (collectively CPF) on the financing, development, operation, and maintenance of County Headquarters, the Governor’s official residence, and ancillary facilities in Homa Bay County, Kenya.
  
• Advise ALSF and FGS on international best practices with respect to Somalia’s mining laws; the brief initially involved two phases, the first being reviewing the Mining Code of 1984 and drafting a new code, which reflects current best practice, while recognising Somalia’s special circumstances.

• Advised Safaricom Plc, Kenya’s leading communications provider, as lead sponsor in a consortium with Apeiro Ltd and Konvergenz Network Solutions Ltd, on the design, financing, delivery, and long-term maintenance of Kenya’s first nationwide digital healthcare infrastructure system.
  
• Advising the Government of Kenya, supported by the African Legal Support Facility, on the development of a comprehensive risk mitigation toolkit to support the implementation of public-private partnership infrastructure projects in Kenya.
  
• Advised ALG, the then lead transaction adviser to the Government of Kenya, on the feasibility study for a proposed public-private partnership project for the modernisation of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, including the development of a new passenger terminal.
  

Highlight-Mandate

• Advised on the Nairobi Smart Street Lighting PPP Project, encompassing the installation of 40,000 new lighting fixtures and retrofitting 60,000 existing lighting fixtures with LED technology lamps under a PPP arrangement, to end up with 100,000 units on 3, 602 km of roads in Nairobi City County at a cost of USD14.5m.
  
• Advised a client on the development of a Kenya National Smart Grid Network, deploying an AI Platform and advanced data analytics under PPP Arrangements at a cost of USD350m
  
• ADvised the Gatsby Africa PPP Arrangements for Planted Forestry Project, which is part of a wider UK PACT project titled “Unlocking Private Investment in Commercial Forestry to Deliver on Kenya’s Climate Strategy”, aimed at delivering accelerated action on climate change mitigation through increased scale and productivity of commercial forestry in Kenya.
