AX Legal Services has been recently strengthened by the addition of Heiðar Ásberg Atlason, who brings strong experience and expertise in the full range of bankruptcy, financial restructurings and litigation issues.

At BBA//Fjeldco, the restructuring and insolvency team handles a variety of work for its clients, including complex restructurings for major companies and multiple wind-down and dissolution cases. Co-practice heads Einar Baldvin Árnason and Gunnar Thor Thorarinsson both bring expert knowledge, with Einar a recognised corporate law specialist who has advised on restructuring cases across a range of industries, including retail, energy, and aviation, and Gunnar advises on cross-border matters and is dual-qualified in both Iceland and England. They are supported by Sara Rut Sigurjónsdóttir and Thórir Júlíusson.

Led by a trio of lawyers, the restructuring and insolvency team at Lex Law Offices focuses primarily on bankruptcy matters, with clients across a range of industries, such as hospitality, media, and tech. Guðmundur Ingvi Sigurðsson brings specialist knowledge of restructurings, having worked on the refinancing of major companies and governmental organisations, whilst Birgir Már Björnsson and Þórhallur Bergmann provide extensive experience of bankruptcy work. Another key name providing additional support is Óskar Sigurðsson, who brings further bankruptcy expertise.

With an established presence in the field, the restructuring and insolvency team at LOGOS handles bankruptcies and complex restructurings for its clients, who include major financial institutions. The head of the team, Ólafur Eiríksson, has experience in white-collar crime and tort law, in addition to his focus on litigation of complex restructuring cases. He is supported regularly by Thórólfur Jónsson, who brings strong experience in and knowledge of corporate law, and by Bjarki Mar Magnusson, who provides expertise in both financial restructurings and bankruptcies. Heiðar Ásberg Atlason left the firm in June 2025.

Réttur – Adalsteinsson & Partners is home to a strong restructuring and insolvency team, which provides advice to its clients on complex, cross-border matters that involve the negotiation of contracts and debt recoveries. Joint practice-head Sigurður Örn Hilmarsson is a supreme court attorney with long-standing experience in the area and who also brings strong dispute experience. Alongside him, Stefán Örn Stefánsson continues to support with further strong restructuring support, in addition to his keen knowledge of M&A, tax law, and financial regulations. Newly hired partner Oddur Ástráðsson brings additional support.

At ADVEL Attorneys at Law, the restructuring and insolvency team is led by Guðmundur Siemsen and supports clients in finance with restructuring needs. Guðmundur brings particular experience in insolvency matters and also leads the dispute resolution practice at the firm, demonstrating his knowledge and expertise in litigation. The team’s recent work has involved the liquidation of companies in a variety of industries.

The restructuring and insolvency team at Juris handles a range of matters for its clients, including complex financial restructuring in the food and drink industry. Practice heads Andri Árnason and Halldór Jónsson both bring strong experience in the field, with Andri particularly specialising in litigation, whilst Halldór provides broad experience of both restructurings and insolvency work. They are regularly supported by Bjarni Aðalgeirsson and by Sigurður Helgason, who joined the firm in January 2025.
